why is it necessary?

A proofread is the final step in the editing process. Its purpose is to catch the small errors that may have been missed, or even unknowingly added, in the earlier stages of editing. Though by this point there are few mistakes, a final pass after developmental, line and copy edits is still necessary to ensure your manuscript is as refined as we can make it. There is no guarantee that your work will be published 100% error-free, but we can get it as close as possible with a proofread. Proofreading also addresses issues with formatting and ensures it’s consistent throughout, which is not covered in a copy edit.

A proofread involves the following, and more:

– Fixing spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors

– Ensuring consistent spelling, hyphenation, capitals and numerals throughout

– Checking for correct and consistent formatting.

Once you have filled out the form below, I will get in touch to arrange a call. We will go over where you’re at with your manuscript and what service(s) you’d like and we can decide if we’re a good fit for each other.

Following that, if you decide to continue working together, I’ll go over your entire manuscript and return it, fully edited using track changes. If you have any questions about my feedback, don’t hesitate to reach out!
